Praise! Play! Grow! and Go!
Our mission statement is Praise, Play, Grow, and Go! Our goal is to provide students with opportunities to praise God, play with peers, grow academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually and be prepared t go to kindergarten. Our program provides a safe, secure environment with a loving, qualified staff that offers a developmentally appropriate curriculum centered on God's love. Our child centered program allows children to learn through hands on activities. The large and small group activities allow the child to grow and develop academically, socially, physically, and spiritually.
AUMC Preschool welcomes all children and does not discriminate because of race, religious, physical, or mental differences. However, our facilities, equipment, staff training, and ratio numbers limit our ability to meet the needs of some students. Therefore, admittance and continuance in our program will be considered and reviewed on an individual basis by the director and the preschool board.

What Sets Us Apart? Our teachers and aides receive annual training and certification in C.P.R., first aid and safe sanctuary. Our staff members are required to attend advanced training in teaching skills throughout the year. All staff members are required to have a police criminal record check done before hiring. Our teaching staff has an average of over eight years of teaching experience. We use the Zoo Phonics curriculum. Weekly STEAM classes for 3 year olds and older. Our smaller class sizes promote individual attention. |
Christine Cartwright, Preschool Director

Hi! My name is Christine Cartwright and I am the preschool director at Acworth UMC. I am blessed to serve with a dedicated and amazing staff at Acworth UMC Preschool. The preschool serves children ages 18 months-5 years of age. Currently, the preschool has over 150 children enrolled and offers a safe and loving environment in which to learn about God's love.
Prior to coming to Acworth UMC, I taught 4 year old preschool, kindergarten, first, and second grade. I graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Later, I completed my Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education at Piedmont University. I started and was director of a preschool in Rock Hill, South Carolina prior to our family moving back to Georgia.
My husband, Brian, and I have been married for over 20 years and have been blessed with two daughters, Ansley and Abigail. Ansley is studying at the University of Georgia, while Abigail has chosen the University of North Georgia for her college education. Brian and I both grew up in Gwinnett County and met in college at the University of Georgia. My husband serves on the board at MUST Ministries and that has provided our family with a variety of opportunities to serve our community. We enjoy the simplicity of the empty nest but love to join our girls for events whenever we can.
