Our Early Five Year Old Program
Classes: Based on your child's age on Sept. 1st

The early fives class meets five days a week. The children are very busy in this class getting prepared for kindergarten or first grade. They learn all of their letters and sounds and practice writing them; they learn to write their names and numbers; they learn about God’s world through arts and crafts and other hands-on activities; this class also engages in computers, puzzles, educational games, outdoor play, and weekly music.

- Our fives come Monday through Friday from 9:15 – 1:15.
- There are up to 16 children in a class with a teacher and an aide.
- This class uses the Sails Literacy curriculum for Language Arts.
- They use Basic Picture Math curriculum.
Some of the Math topics are Numbers and Counting, Measuring and Graphing, Shapes and Patterns, Sequencing, Money, Addition, and Telling Time.
- Science curriculum includes Light, Water, Magnetism, Rock & Minerals, Space, and Land Animals.
- Social Studies activities include our National Flag,
State Flag, Pledge of Allegiance, Statue of Liberty, and holidays like Thanksgiving, MLK Day, and Presidents Day.
